Production Estimator / Coordinator Locations: Knoxville, TN or Chesapeake, VA Schedule: Day shift | Onsite At MCC, our Production Estimator / Coordinator plays a vital role in turning customer concepts into high-quality printed products. This position sits at the center of design, estimating, and production coordination, ensuring projects move forward accurately, efficiently, and on time. Competitive pay: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience) Consistent day shift schedule Career growth and development opportunities Comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, vision Disability and life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day Thanksgiving & Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Two floating holidays What You’ll Do Review and support approval of product designs and manufacturing requirements Estimate materials, labor, and production costs based on specifications Partner with sales, production, technical services, customer service, and design teams to align on timelines and capabilities Support development and approval of design features, including security elements and promotional components Clearly communicate job requirements to ensure smooth production handoff Provide guidance and support to internal teams on design standards and manufacturing considerations Respond to internal and customer inquiries related to product development Participate in quality and continuous improvement efforts Approve invoices related to outsourced services (tooling, press components, etc.) Communicate design changes that may impact cost or timing Build strong working relationships through regular cross‑functional collaboration Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and process improvement
What We’re Looking For Required: High school diploma or GED Preferred (not required): Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience Experience in printing, labeling, or a manufacturing environment Background in estimating, production coordination, customer service, or technical support roles Skills That Help You Succeed Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfort working with specifications, measurements, and production details Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn internal systems Solid math and measurement comprehension Ability to read and interpret technical documentation Organized, detail‑oriented, and effective at managing multiple priorities Problem‑solver with practical decision‑making skills Team‑focused mindset and willingness to support shared goals Flexibility to support workload‑driven overtime when needed
The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
