*Job Description: Cook – The Jolly Roger*
This job description outlines the essential duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and
working conditions for the position of Cook at The Jolly Roger, part of The Silver Lake Hotel
at Ocracoke. It is designed to comply with federal and North Carolina state labor laws, as
well as internal company standards.
*Position Summary*
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and
quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes
* Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
* Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
* Assist with prep work and station setup
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations and equipment
* Communicate effectively with kitchen staff
* Perform opening and closing duties
* Perform other duties as assigned by management
*Qualifications*
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: Previous cooking experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Food safety certification preferred
Skills: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; attention to detail; teamwork
*Compensation and Benefits*
Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour
