The Sales Engineer works closely with customers, sales teams, and software development to understand application requirements, demonstrate value-driven solutions, and enable successful adoption across industrial and medical AM environments.
Responsibilities
Support customers in the optimal use of Materialise additive manufacturing software across the AM workflow, including design preparation, build processing, simulation, and production management.
Engage directly with customers to assess technical requirements, AM workflows, and production challenges, and recommend appropriate software solutions.
Deliver compelling technical demonstrations of AM software via web-based platforms and on-site customer visits.
Partner closely with the sales team to support solution selling, proof‑of‑concept activities, and customer evaluations.
Provide technical demonstrations and customer support at trade shows, industry conferences, and AM‑focused events.
Act as a technical liaison between customers and the software development team by communicating customer feedback, feature requests, and application requirements.
Develop a deep understanding of customer products, AM applications, business objectives, and industry trends to identify opportunities for Materialise solutions.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers at all organizational levels, from engineers to decision‑makers.
Network within the additive manufacturing ecosystem, including OEMs, service bureaus, and end users, to strengthen Materialise’s industry presence.
Your profile

Hands‑on experience with CAD and additive manufacturing software, including build preparation, support generation, and production workflows.
Solid understanding of AM technologies (e.g., powder bed fusion, material extrusion, resin‑based processes) and their industrial applications.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and customer‑facing skills.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Experience working with industrial AM customers, service bureaus, or OEMs.
Familiarity with AM production environments and digital manufacturing workflows.
Comfortable working cross‑functionally with sales, product management, and software development teams.
Willingness to travel for customer visits, demonstrations, and industry events.
