Job Qualifications
Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience with SQL Server 2012–2019.
Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) in SQL Server.
Proficiency with Windows Server 2016–2019, Active Directory, PowerShell/VBS scripting.
Experience applying DISA STIGs to SQL Server databases and managing associated security controls.
Strong documentation skills: creating standards, operating procedures, security policies.
Work experience with Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, SQL Always‑On, and Failover Clustering.
Qualifications & Requirements
Active Top Secret clearance required; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance upon hire.
Minimum 5 years administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or equivalent).
BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
U.S. citizenship required.
Position is on‑site at Quantico, VA.
Position is currently pending funding.
Responsibilities
Maintain and optimize all SQL Server databases supporting government mission‑critical applications.
Design, plan, and implement new databases, including security, backup, recovery, performance tuning, and documentation.
Apply DISA STIGs and support the Accreditation process, including scans, findings resolution, and documentation.
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct proactive tuning.
Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures; perform scheduled and on‑demand backups using SSMS or SQLCMD.
Administer SQL Server 2012‑2019 and SQL Reporting Services, including Always‑On and Failover Clustering.
Execute system backups, perform ACAS/SCAP scans, and remediate identified weaknesses.
Assist Tier 2 help desk with system‑related escalations and user account management in Active Directory.
Document all processes and comply with Release Management Framework (RMF) documentation requirements.
Preferred (Optional)
Experience with SQL Server 2016‑2019.
Experience managing Microsoft Server 2016 or higher.
Work Structure
Regular hours: 40 per week.
Travel: None.
Telecommuting: Hybrid (partial work from home).
