Responsibilities
Analyzing and manipulating data sets to find insights Creating visualizations of data sets and ensuring data visualizations are accurate and up‑to‑date Writing compelling research‑driven stories about data and how it relates to the line of service Providing frequent Economic Development data reporting to the department and organization as needed Independently determining where the "holes" are in the data, recommending improvements, and assisting in making improvements to workflows with managed software, systems, or programs Working through incremental data processes to test recommendations and adjust, or further, recommendations as necessary Managing visualization tools, including licensing, training, and educating staff as needed Querying different data sources while dealing with a continuous stream of data requests from multiple stakeholders Evaluating, recommending, and implementing improvements to existing processes, configurations, documentation, and reporting, automating recurring analysis, and building reusable processes to speed up future analysis Effectively communicating conclusions and recommendations based on data analysis findings Developing systems and guidelines for housing data from varied sources Working alongside the Data Governance team to ingest, transform, and QA relevant data sets Minimum Qualifications and Special Requirements
Undergraduate degree in a position‑related field or equivalent job‑related experience. At least 5 years of relevant experience An understanding of digital mediums, technologies, and trends. A passion for innovation on all fronts. Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Power BI Success in presenting strategic solutions Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel Knowledge of Economic Development aligned software systems such as ArcGIS, Costar, Placer.ai, Lightcast, EnerGov, etc. Licensing/Certifications
Valid Arizona Driver's License. This position is an At‑Will position and is FLSA Exempt‑ineligible for overtime compensation. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of approximately 50% on‑site and 50% remote.
