Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop a team of data analysts responsible for data integrity and business insights.
Engage leadership with data‑driven insights and share analytical results with stakeholders and senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.
Oversee and maintain data governance best practices within the team; guide data mining, profiling, cleansing and validation processes to ensure high‑quality data.
Lead initiatives within Managing General Agent (MGA) and insurance carrier environments, ensuring alignment with commercial lines strategy and regulatory standards.
Guide analytical and strategic initiatives relating to Commercial Lines insurance products, including Business Owners Policy (BOP), General Liability (GL), Worker's Compensation (WC), and Professional Liability (PL).
Execute advanced SQL queries and develop dynamic dashboards using Power BI for real‑time business intelligence.
Direct data quality assurance and ETL processes to maintain clean, reliable and accessible data pipelines across systems.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to present insights, influence strategic decisions, and contribute as a key voice within the leadership team.
Utilize insurance policy administration systems and integrated carrier data feeds to support data‑driven operational insights.
Investigate and resolve data discrepancies from various internal and external sources (carriers, internal systems, external systems).
Design and execute in‑depth product performance analyses across BOP, GL, WC and PL lines to understand potential gaps and resolutions.
Analyze agency behavior to identify trends, growth opportunities and risk signals.
Perform carrier‑level analysis to monitor performance, pricing effectiveness and quote‑bind activity consistency.
Collaborate closely with Product, Sales & Clients, Distribution and IT to ensure alignment on data strategies and findings.
Solve complex business problems through analytical thinking, with a focus on agency performance, carrier trends and product behavior.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered or a related position.
Must have two (2) years of experience with all of the following:
Performing analysis of insurance statistics.
Utilizing PowerBI to visualize key performance indicators of production environment and analyze product trend, class of business and agency behavior.
Communicating qualitative and quantitative research and analysis to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Developing powerful, user‑friendly visualizations leveraging visualization tools including Power BI and Tableau.
Working closely with management to present hypotheses and analyses.
Examining and presenting product trends by investigating multi‑layered cross‑effects on variables including class, state, and carriers.
Identifying the root cause of data anomalies to pinpoint errors and collaborating with data engineers to resolve discrepancies.
Implementing Row‑Level Security in visualization tools, including Power BI and Tableau by defining security roles and creating DAX expressions to filter data based on user roles or permissions.
Securing PuTTY configurations with Secure Shell (SSH) Tunneling by using Local Port Forwarding to connect to remote databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL.
