Carle Health is seeking a Program Supervisor – Behavioral Health Workforce Development to lead strategic initiatives that strengthen and expand our behavioral health workforce. In this role, you will guide the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs designed to recruit, develop, and retain behavioral health professionals across our community-based care settings. Working within the Program Management & Coordination department, you will collaborate closely with clinical leaders, human resources, academic partners, and community organizations to ensure that workforce development efforts are aligned with Carle Health’s mission to improve patient health outcomes and provide safe, high-quality care.
The Program Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of behavioral health workforce development initiatives, including pipeline programs, internship and residency partnerships, onboarding and training pathways, and ongoing professional development for behavioral health clinicians and support staff. You will supervise program staff, coordinate complex projects and timelines, and ensure that program goals, milestones, and deliverables are met. This role will require you to use data and performance metrics to evaluate program effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements that support access to behavioral health services and elevate the quality of patient care.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including educational institutions, community partners, and professional organizations. The Program Supervisor will help design and refine curricula, educational resources, and training content that reflect evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and Carle Health’s commitment to innovation and patient safety. You will facilitate communication across interdisciplinary teams, coordinate meetings and workgroups, and support change management efforts as new workforce strategies are implemented.
In addition, the Program Supervisor will contribute to budget planning and resource allocation for behavioral health workforce initiatives, assist with grants or funding proposals, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements. You will prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards that highlight key outcomes, trends, and opportunities, sharing insights with leadership to guide strategic decision-making. This position is well-suited for a professional with a strong background in behavioral health and program management who is passionate about developing people, improving systems, and advancing access to high-quality behavioral health care.
Aligned with Carle Health’s culture of innovation, teamwork, and excellence, the Program Supervisor – Behavioral Health Workforce Development will cultivate a collaborative environment where staff feel supported, engaged, and empowered to grow. You will model effective communication, promote diversity and inclusion in workforce initiatives, and champion best practices that support the well-being and professional satisfaction of behavioral health providers. Employees in this role can expect meaningful opportunities for professional growth, participation in impactful healthcare projects, and the chance to shape the future of behavioral health services within the communities we serve.
This position is based within a healthcare and medical services environment and will involve a combination of on-site collaboration at Carle Health locations and potential hybrid work arrangements, depending on program needs. Occasional travel to partner sites, educational institutions, and community events may be required. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in behavioral health or mental health settings, demonstrated program or project management skills, and a genuine commitment to advancing behavioral health workforce capacity in support of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
