As a Radiology Tech at Baylor Scott & White Health, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for a variety of routine and specialized X-ray examinations, operating radiologic equipment in accordance with established protocols, and ensuring optimal image quality while following ALARA principles and all radiation safety standards. You will verify patient identification and exam orders, explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety, and provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, conditions, and backgrounds. You will manage workflow through PACS/RIS and electronic medical record systems, accurately document procedures, and promptly communicate any critical findings or concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.
You will be expected to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant imaging environment by following infection prevention practices, equipment quality control procedures, and regulatory guidelines. This includes routine equipment checks, reporting malfunctions, monitoring radiation doses, and supporting departmental quality improvement and accreditation activities. You will assist with contrast studies as needed, support portable and operating room imaging, and respond effectively to urgent and emergency requests while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
