Overview We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join an organization operating in the private markets space. This is a hybrid role that sits at the intersection of technology, finance, and accounting.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong accounting foundation (often candidates with CFA coursework or similar education), but who intentionally pursued a more technical, systems‑focused career path.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a technical partner to the finance team, quickly understanding and mapping their end‑to‑end requirements
Lead requirements gathering for complex finance and accounting workflows, with the ability to step into meetings (including senior‑level forums) when leadership is unavailable
Translate business and accounting needs into clear, structured technical requirements, user stories, and functional documentation
Work closely with developers and engineering teams to support solution design, story creation, and delivery
Support and evaluate third‑party finance tools, with a focus on how they integrate into the existing infrastructure and systems landscape
Help design and define integration points across platforms and internal systems
Serve as a technical escalation point for finance‑related system questions and challenges
Mentor and guide junior business analysts, setting best practices for documentation, stakeholder engagement, and delivery
Required Experience & Skills
Strong understanding of finance and accounting concepts (e.g., general ledger, financial reporting, close processes, private market workflows)
Background in private markets, fintech, or financial services is required
Proven experience working closely with software engineers and technical teams
Hands‑on experience with story creation, backlog grooming, and delivery in Agile environments
Experience supporting or integrating third‑party tools into an existing systems ecosystem
Ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders (SVP, finance leadership, managers)
Comfortable operating independently and adding value immediately
Nice to Have
CFA (completed or partially completed), or equivalent financial education
Experience bridging finance teams and technical teams in a hybrid BA/technical role
