With a Care Inspectorate Rating of 'Very Good' , we maintain high standards of care for children and families. Our Glasgow team supports foster families and children across various areas, including Paisley, Renfrewshire, and Lanarkshire.
Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Supervising Social Worker, you will:
- Support foster carers and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
- Monitor the suitability and competence of foster carers, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Provide regular supervision to allocated foster carers in line with our Operational Standards.
- Work collaboratively to identify needs within foster families, contributing to relevant meetings and tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all key documentation for children and foster carers.
- Attend meetings and provide reports for commissioning teams regarding individual care packages.
- Promote the participation of children and young people in agency development and community resources.
- Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rota basis.
- Conduct occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.
To thrive in this role, you must have:
- A Social Work qualification and professional registration with SSSC or equivalent.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
- The willingness and ability to travel extensively.
- Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
- A full driving licence and unrestricted access to your own vehicle.
