Supervising Social Worker

Our dedicated teams of social workers are always close by, providing consistent support, regular groups, and welcoming family events that foster a strong community. With a Care Inspectorate Rating of 'Very Good' , we maintain high standards of care for children and families. Our Glasgow team supports foster families and children across various areas, including Paisley, Renfrewshire, and Lanarkshire.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will:

• Support foster carers and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
• Monitor the suitability and competence of foster carers, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Provide regular supervision to allocated foster carers in line with our Operational Standards.
• Work collaboratively to identify needs within foster families, contributing to relevant meetings and tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all key documentation for children and foster carers.
• Attend meetings and provide reports for commissioning teams regarding individual care packages.
• Promote the participation of children and young people in agency development and community resources.
• Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rota basis.
• Conduct occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.

To thrive in this role, you must have:

• A Social Work qualification and professional registration with SSSC or equivalent.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
• A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
• The willingness and ability to travel extensively.
• Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
• A full driving licence and unrestricted access to your own vehicle.
