Location: Office-based - Bromsgrove Head Office

Contract: Full-time, permanent (35 hours per week)

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum

Your Role and Responsibilities

As our Purchase Ledger Manager, you will:

  • Manage purchase ledger systems, processes, and controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a dedicated purchase ledger team of 3 staff members.
  • Train and educate purchase order users to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure timely weekly supplier payment processing and authorization in line with company procedures.
  • Resolve queries from suppliers and other departments promptly.
  • Reconcile suppliers' monthly statements and assist with month-end procedures.
  • Support year-end accounts and provide necessary audit information.
  • Monitor, improve, and develop internal processes for greater effectiveness.
  • Review and follow up on any invoices that may appear fraudulent or duplicated, escalating as necessary.
  • Maintain and enhance fraud prevention controls, including supplier verification processes and bank detail change checks.
  • Produce and review aged creditor reports, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in purchase ledger, including familiarity with purchase order systems.
  • Leadership or people development experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a collaborative spirit.
