One to One Teaching Assistant

Our mission is to foster growth and help each individual reach their transitional milestones in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.

We are excited to invite a dedicated One to One Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic staff team. This full-time position is available Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 16:30 , during term time only. While primarily based at one site, you may also support students at local PE venues and, eventually, in college settings.

As a key member of our educational team, you will:

• Collaborate with the Headteacher and class teachers to align with our therapeutic approach.
• Support pupils in learning effectively, both individually and in group settings by:
• Clarifying and explaining instructions.
• Ensuring access to necessary equipment and materials.
• Motivating and encouraging pupils through personalized attention and support.
• Assisting in areas such as speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, and handwriting.
• Using praise and constructive feedback to keep pupils engaged and focused.
• Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals regarding Individual Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
• Provide additional nurture and support as requested by the class teacher or SENCO.
• Implement agreed behavior management strategies consistently.
• Establish supportive relationships with pupils to promote acceptance and inclusion.
• Monitor and adapt learning activities to meet intended outcomes.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A minimum qualification of GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths and English .
• A Level 3 or above Teaching Assistant qualification.
• An understanding of the challenges faced by students with Emotional, Behavioural, or Social needs.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
• Desirable: Experience in a specialist educational environment.

This position is a 12-month fixed-term contract , offering a supportive and engaging work environment in Horsham, West Sussex .
