As a Sonographer, you will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations using advanced imaging equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure accurate imaging, timely results, and an exceptional patient experience. In this role, you will prepare patients for procedures by explaining exams in clear, empathetic language, verifying medical history and physician orders, and positioning patients to obtain optimal images while prioritizing comfort and safety. You will operate ultrasound equipment to capture and analyze images of abdominal organs, obstetric and gynecologic structures, vascular systems, small parts, and other anatomical areas as appropriate to your training and department needs. You will optimize technical settings, apply standardized imaging protocols, and recognize normal versus abnormal findings, escalating urgent or critical results to the interpreting provider in a timely manner. Your responsibilities will also include accurate documentation of procedures, measurements, and patient information in the electronic medical record, as well as maintaining exam logs and collaborating with radiologists and ordering providers on image quality and clinical questions. You will adhere to all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards, uphold patient privacy and confidentiality, and follow LifeBridge Health policies and professional guidelines. You will assist with quality assurance activities, participate in equipment checks, and promptly report malfunctioning equipment or safety concerns. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will interact with diverse patient populations across the lifespan and should be comfortable caring for patients with a wide range of medical conditions and acuity levels. Compassionate communication, cultural sensitivity, and a patient-centered mindset are essential, as you support patients and families who may be anxious or distressed. As part of LifeBridge Health’s culture of collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, you will participate in ongoing education, skills development, and potential cross-training in specialty ultrasound areas as needed by the department. You may precept or mentor students and new team members, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and support departmental goals related to quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. LifeBridge Health offers opportunities for professional growth, including advanced certifications, leadership development, and career advancement within our integrated health system. The ideal candidate brings formal training in diagnostic medical sonography, current sonography credentials, and prior clinical ultrasound experience in a hospital or outpatient setting. You should demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement in both clinical practice and patient care. By joining LifeBridge Health, you will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to improving health and promoting well-being in the diverse communities we serve, leveraging your expertise in ultrasound to make a meaningful impact every day.
