Occupational Therapist

Avera Health is seeking a compassionate and patient-centered Occupational Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide evidence-based occupational therapy services to patients across a variety of settings, helping individuals restore function, adapt to physical or cognitive challenges, and maximize independence in daily life. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions focused on meaningful activities, safety, and quality of life. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physical and speech therapists, social workers, and case managers, you will contribute your clinical expertise to coordinated care plans and smooth transitions across the continuum of care. As an Occupational Therapist with Avera Health, you will conduct functional assessments, analyze performance in self-care, work, and leisure activities, and tailor interventions that may include therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, cognitive retraining, adaptive techniques, and the use of assistive devices and durable medical equipment. You will educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, energy conservation, joint protection, and environmental modifications to support safe and independent living. Clear, timely documentation in the electronic medical record, accurate treatment coding, and outcome tracking will be key parts of your daily responsibilities.
