Nursery Chef

Hourly Rate: £13.30 per hour
Hours: 33 hours per week

Are you passionate about cooking and nurturing young minds? Ramsey Day Nursery , part of the Family First Group, is on the lookout for a dedicated Nursery Chef to join our vibrant team! This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, all year round—no term-time only roles here!

Choose from two shift options:

• 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

As our Nursery Chef, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming kitchen environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, adhering to hygiene standards and completing the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly.
• Ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the nursery.
• Preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals for children, minimizing food waste.
• Communicating dietary requirements clearly with the team.
• Following personal care routines and dietary measures, including the Red, Amber, and Green plate procedures.
• Collaborating with nursery staff and parents to promote healthy eating.
• Managing food orders within budget to ensure quality service.

Note: Duties may evolve, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A solid understanding of managing dietary requirements, especially food allergies (essential).
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations (essential).
• Experience working within a catering budget while maintaining food service standards (essential).
• Relevant cooking experience in domestic or commercial settings (essential).
• Fluency in written and spoken English at GCSE grade C (or equivalent) (essential).
• A passion for cooking for young children (desirable).
