Nursery Chef

Hourly Rate: £13.02 per hour - 25 hours per week

Footsteps Atherstone Nursery and Pre-School , part of the Family First Group, is on the lookout for a dedicated Nursery Chef to join our vibrant team! This is a fantastic opportunity to work 25 hours a week, Monday to Friday, all year round—no term-time only restrictions here!

Located on Old Watling Street in Atherstone, our nursery is easily accessible from Atherstone Town Centre and the train station, with convenient on-site parking available.

As our Nursery Chef, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming kitchen environment. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, adhering to all hygiene standards and completing the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly.
• Prepare and cook nutritious, age-appropriate meals for our children, minimizing waste and ensuring freshness.
• Communicate effectively with nursery staff about dietary requirements and ensure all needs are met.
• Collaborate with the nursery team and parents to promote healthy eating habits.
• Manage food orders within budget to maintain high standards of service.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

• A solid understanding of managing dietary requirements, especially food allergies.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
• Experience in working within a catering budget while maintaining food quality.
• Relevant cooking experience in either domestic or commercial settings.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (GCSE grade C or equivalent).
• A passion for cooking for young children is a plus!
