Available Internship Strava is looking for software engineering interns for a range of disciplines. This mobile Android internship would be on the Trust & Safety team. The Trust & Safety team is responsible for building the features, tools, systems, and infrastructure that protect the integrity of Strava’s platform and support a safe, trusted experience for athletes worldwide. The team focuses on developing scalable and resilient solutions that detect abuse, prevent misuse, and uphold community standards.
We follow a hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on‑site in our San Francisco office — four days per week.
What You’ll Do
Build and improve safety‑related mobile features and internal tools alongside a collaborative team of talented engineers.
Help strengthen a safe, trusted community experience for millions of athletes around the world.
Partner closely with teams across product, design, marketing, analytics, and support to deliver impactful solutions.
Write clean, reliable, well‑tested code that is easy to read, maintain, and scale.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with an
expected graduation date of May 2026, December 2026, or May 2027 —
OR–
have recently completed or are currently enrolled in a coding bootcamp, technical training program, or are transitioning into software engineering through equivalent practical experience.
Have a strong understanding of core computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and program flow.
Have experience building mobile applications through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
Have experience with at least one programming language such as Kotlin, Java, Python, or similar (Kotlin or Android experience is a plus).
Demonstrate clean coding practices, thoughtful documentation, and a disciplined approach to testing.
Are comfortable using version control systems such as Git.
Are passionate about building high‑quality mobile experiences and improving apps used by real people.

The Summer Internship Program
The program will be in our San Francisco, CA office with a hybrid office attendance requirement of 4 days per week.
Housing stipend for summer is provided to live in SF for 3 months.
Length of program: 10‑12 weeks (summer 2026 roughly June through August).
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
This is a paid internship.
