Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Rad Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging to patients across our non-profit health system. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic X-ray procedures in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and radiation safety standards. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will play a key role in supporting accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans. In this role, you will greet and prepare patients for imaging exams, verify patient identification and clinical history, explain procedures clearly, and respond to questions to ensure comfort and understanding. You will position patients safely and accurately, select appropriate technical factors, and operate radiographic equipment, digital imaging systems, and PACS to capture high-quality diagnostic images. You will follow physician protocols, monitor image quality, and repeat images when needed to minimize artifacts and ensure diagnostic value while always adhering to ALARA principles to reduce radiation exposure for patients, yourself, and colleagues. The Rad Tech will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record, verifying orders, entering exam details, tracking contrast use when applicable, and ensuring that all images are properly labeled, archived, and transmitted for interpretation. You will follow departmental policies for exam prioritization, infection prevention, patient transport, and emergency response, escalating clinical concerns to radiologists or supervising clinicians as appropriate. You may assist with portable and OR imaging, fluoroscopic procedures, and trauma or emergency imaging, requiring flexibility, situational awareness, and calm performance under pressure. Aligned with Presbyterian Healthcare’s culture of patient care, respect, integrity, accountability, and safety, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, professional conduct, and ethical practice. You will communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff, protect patient privacy and confidentiality, and contribute to a supportive, collaborative work environment. You will participate in continuous quality improvement activities, equipment checks, and routine room and equipment cleaning to maintain a safe and efficient imaging environment. This position offers opportunities for professional growth through cross-training, education on new imaging technologies, and potential advancement into lead or specialty roles. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital or clinic setting with varied patient populations, including inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required based on departmental needs. By joining Presbyterian Healthcare Services, you will be part of a mission-driven, community-focused organization where your technical skills and dedication to quality imaging directly support meaningful health outcomes for patients throughout the Albuquerque region and beyond.
