LifeBridge Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital and specialty care settings. As an integral member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide high‑quality respiratory care to patients across the continuum, including emergency, critical care, inpatient, and outpatient environments. In this role, you will assess patients with a variety of respiratory conditions, interpret clinical and diagnostic data, and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Typical responsibilities include administering and managing oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, non‑invasive ventilation, and mechanical ventilation, as well as performing arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, pulmonary function measurements, and patient assessments to evaluate response to therapy. You will participate in the initiation, monitoring, and adjustment of ventilator support, troubleshoot respiratory equipment, and respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies, codes, and rapid response calls. The Respiratory Therapist will contribute to care planning and patient rounding, provide clear documentation in the electronic medical record, and communicate effectively with the care team, patients, and families to support safe, informed decision‑making. LifeBridge Health’s culture emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and community engagement. You will play a key role in educating patients and families on respiratory conditions, inhaler and device use, oxygen safety, smoking cessation, and strategies to manage chronic lung disease at home. You will also support staff education by sharing best practices, assisting with competency training on respiratory equipment, and participating in quality improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and safety. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care. You should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, prioritizing multiple patients, and adapting to changing clinical needs. Accurate assessment skills, critical thinking in acute and critical care situations, and adherence to infection control and safety standards are essential. Familiarity with current respiratory care guidelines, ventilator modes, non‑invasive ventilation strategies, and respiratory care protocols is important for success in this role. Working at LifeBridge Health offers opportunities for career advancement and professional development through ongoing education, cross‑training in specialized areas such as critical care, neonatal/pediatric care, or pulmonary diagnostics, and participation in clinical committees or project teams. As part of our mission to improve health and promote well‑being in diverse communities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to community‑focused programs and initiatives that support respiratory health and disease prevention. This is a full‑time position with a primarily field/on‑site work environment in our Maryland facilities, which may include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, depending on departmental needs. LifeBridge Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings options, in addition to a supportive, team‑oriented workplace dedicated to continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
