Physical Therapist

Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a respected non-profit healthcare system based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide patient-centered, evidence-based physical therapy to individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical conditions. You will perform comprehensive evaluations; develop and implement individualized plans of care; and deliver therapeutic interventions focused on restoring function, improving mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing safety and quality of life. Working in close collaboration with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other allied health professionals, you will participate in interdisciplinary care planning, communicate clearly about patient progress, and contribute to safe and timely discharges or transitions of care. You will educate patients and their families on diagnoses, exercise programs, functional training, use of assistive devices, and strategies to promote independence and prevent injury or re-hospitalization. Accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record will be a core responsibility, ensuring compliance with regulatory and payer requirements as well as internal quality standards. Day-to-day, you will conduct detailed physical therapy assessments, including strength, range of motion, balance, gait, functional mobility, pain, and cardiopulmonary status. Based on your findings and patient goals, you will design and progress treatment programs using therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, gait and balance training, functional training, and modalities within scope and policy. You will monitor patient responses, adjust interventions accordingly, and ensure adherence to prescribed precautions and safety guidelines. You may participate in student supervision, mentoring of less experienced staff, or involvement in clinical projects and program development as appropriate.
