Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a non-profit healthcare system based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations for patients of all ages in a fast-paced clinical environment, supporting physicians and other providers in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions. Working collaboratively with nurses, providers, and fellow technologists, you will operate digital radiography and fluoroscopy equipment, follow ALARA principles, and ensure accurate positioning and imaging techniques to produce clear, complete studies. The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for verifying provider orders, reviewing patient history, screening for contraindications, and explaining procedures in a clear, compassionate manner to reduce anxiety and ensure patient understanding. You will prepare patients for exams, position them safely and comfortably, select appropriate technical factors, and adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols for patients, yourself, and other staff. You will also be accountable for proper identification and labeling of images, timely completion of exams, and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record and PACS. Consistent with Presbyterian Healthcare’s culture of patient care, respect, integrity, accountability, and safety, you will maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, follow infection prevention guidelines, and promptly report equipment or safety issues. You will collaborate with radiologists to clarify protocols, adjust techniques as needed for complex or emergent cases, and respond effectively to urgent and add-on exam requests while prioritizing patient care and workflow efficiency. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations are essential.
