Welcome to Redstone Hall School, a vibrant new educational establishment in Ipswich! We cater to up to 30 pupils aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs, providing a safe and supportive environment where every child is valued and empowered. As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Determining the strategic development of SEN policy and provision within the school.
• Designing and delivering targeted interventions to close attainment gaps.
• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
• Holding annual reviews and acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Liaising with the Headteacher, Tutors, class teachers, and parents to support individual learning plans.
• Maintaining accurate records and providing support to colleagues in effective teaching and behavior management.
• Coordinating provision for pupils with SEN or disabilities and ensuring effective communication with external agencies.
• Promoting inclusion in the school community and facilitating smooth transitions for pupils.
• Teaching commitment (50/50) with secondary teaching experience, preferably in Science.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete the new NPQ for SENCOs).
• Previous experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
• A background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
• Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
• Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Conduct.
• A commitment to professional development and a passion for learning.
