About the Role:
Job Title: Sr. Project Manager
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3 days)
About the Role:
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop and execute project plans, including defining objectives, deliverables, timelines. Ensure alignment with business goals and customer requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Identify project stakeholders, establish clear communication channels, and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Proactively address any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project, taking proactive measures to prevent or minimize their impact.
- Project Execution: Lead project execution, coordinating activities across different teams and ensuring adherence to project plans. Monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and manage changes to scope or requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk registers. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and risks.
- Ensure all documentation is stored in project folders, easily accessible to all team members.
- Customer Engagement: Collaborate closely with customers to understand their requirements and ensure successful implementation of solutions. Provide guidance and support to customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in project management practices. Contribute to the development and enhancement of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Quality Assurance: Reviewing deliverables for quality before passing it to the stakeholders
- Multi-tasking: Ability to manage multiple projects at a time without compromising the project's timeline/scope/deliverables.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a project manager, with lead or manager responsibilities is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the payments industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of payment processing technologies, including card payments, mobile payments, and online payment gateways.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects and facilitate teams to achieve quality solutions
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and
- the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to facilitate workgroups
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
- The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
- Advanced skills in MS Office suite, highly proficient in JIRA
- PMP Certification – desired but not compulsory
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $170,000 – $180,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
