I’m partnering with a leading professional services firm who are looking to appoint a Tax Manager into their Private Client Tax team. This is a key hire within the business, offering the opportunity to step into a role with real ownership over client relationships, while also playing a central part in supporting and developing a growing team.
The position sits within a busy private client function, combining both compliance and advisory responsibilities across a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients.
The Role
In this role, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of private clients, ensuring high-quality delivery across all aspects of personal tax compliance and advisory work. Alongside this, you will also play a wider role in supporting team performance and workflow management.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of private client relationships with a high level of autonomy
Supporting wider portfolio management and contributing to effective workflow planning
Delivering both compliance and advisory personal tax services
Identifying tax planning opportunities and areas of tax-sensitive expenditure
Acting as a main point of contact for client queries and ensuring timely resolution
Working closely with internal teams to ensure all deadlines, including HMRC requirements, are met
Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing constructive feedbackSupporting the development of the team through coaching and day-to-day guidance
Monitoring your own performance, including utilisation, productivity and WIP
Contributing to revenue and profitability targets across the department
About You
CTA / ACA / ACCA / CA (or equivalent) qualified
Strong experience in private client or personal tax within a practice environment
Confident handling both compliance and advisory work across a varied portfolio
Strong technical ability with the capability to research and interpret complex tax matters
Comfortable working collaboratively and supporting the development of junior colleagues
Strong communicator with good client-facing experience
