Advanced Analytical & Technical Expertise
Applies expert‑level analytical skills to break down complex credit risk problems, integrating data from multiple internal and external sources to produce insights, recommendations, and decision‑ready materials.
Designs and produces sophisticated recurring and ad‑hoc reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support credit risk monitoring and regulatory expectations.
Conducts advanced credit portfolio analytics including vintage analysis, trend assessments, risk segmentation, and predictive analysis to identify emerging risks and portfolio vulnerabilities.
Supports the development of risk decision strategies including data analytics, simulation, validation testing, and reporting requirements to evaluate the effectiveness of new or modified strategies.
Data Management & Reporting Leadership
Defines business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform senior‑level decisions and align with enterprise standards.
Ensures strong governance and effective controls for data quality, lineage, and use of key risk indicators (KRIs), including the development, calibration, and ongoing monitoring of KRIs for Business Banking.
Participates in and may lead components of strategic initiatives related to credit risk analytics, reporting transformation, and process modernization.
Subject‑Matter Expertise & Consultation
Acts as a subject matter expert on regulatory, policy, and industry requirements related to credit risk, risk reporting, and analytics.
Provides strategic input to senior leaders regarding portfolio quality, emerging risks, model or policy impacts, and opportunities to enhance monitoring capabilities.
Serves as a key partner to first‑ and second‑line stakeholders, offering effective challenge and analytical guidance on business banking originations, credit policy changes, and portfolio strategies.
Programming & Tools
Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAS, Python, and Power BI, with the ability to automate processes, build analytical models, integrate multiple data sources, and design interactive dashboards.
Ability to perform complex portfolio analytics, including vintage curves, cohort performance tracking, segmentation modeling, and early‑warning indicator development.
Risk Management Expertise
In‑depth knowledge of credit risk management theory, risk systems, reporting frameworks, and Credit Cards and other Consumer lending products.
Demonstrated experience with KRIs, KPIs, capital‑at‑risk assessments, and other advanced credit portfolio metrics.
Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and internal policies impacting reporting and portfolio oversight.
Communication & Influence
Skilled in conveying complex analytical findings to senior stakeholders through clear narratives, visualizations, and recommendations.
Proven ability to influence decision‑making in ambiguous or data‑limited environments, supporting cross‑functional alignment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
A seasoned analytical professional with 7+ years of experience in credit risk analytics, preferably within Consumer lending.
Deep technical fluency in statistical analysis, programming, and risk reporting systems.
Demonstrated ability to independently own complex analysis and produce insights that shape policy, risk appetite, and portfolio strategy.
Comfortable working with large datasets, ambiguous business problems, and fast‑evolving regulatory and portfolio dynamics.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to serve as a trusted analytical advisor.
Hybrid Role Requirements Hybrid role requires in‑office collaboration a minimum of three days per week.
Salaries & Benefits Salary:
$102,000.00 - $190,000.00
Pay Type:
Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance‑based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
