General Counsel

An International professional service firm is seeking to recruit a General Counsel. The General Counsel will be supported by the Associate General Counsel and ten solicitors.

The team provides legal advice and support in the areas of engagement contracting, AML, Data protection and security, litigation support and other areas as they arise.

• 
  
• The provision of advice to the Managing Partner and to the leadership of the firm and the wider teams on legal, regulatory and reputational issues and risks for the organization which will require attendance at Executive Leadership Team and Policy Committee meetings.
  
• Management responsibility for the in-house legal team.
  
• Management of relationships with external counsel.
  
• Planning for emerging legislation and regulation which will be relevant to the Firm.
  
• Advice on engagement contracting expertise / updating of engagement letters.
  
• Maintaining effective AML policies in compliance with legal (Irl and UK) and international standards.
  
• Developing and maintaining effective Digital / AI policies, compliant with legislation and international policies, and contribute to oversight of compliance through Firm.
  
• Maintain effective policies, compliant with legislation and international policies, to ensure Data confidentiality / privacy and contribute to oversight of compliance through Firm.
  
• Litigation and other support and management of Firm’s professional indemnity arrangements.
  
• Support for governance committees of the Firm.
  
• Developing and maintaining a framework for Firm to oversee compliance with laws and regulations across practice. xcfaprz
  

The role is suited to an experienced lawyer already operating as a General Counsel or partner / partner equivalent in a law firm, capable of developing strong relationships across the Firm, leading development and implementation of policy, and supporting the protection of the Firm and its reputation.
