Due to our ethos of best practice audit quality and the volume of growth of high‑profile clients in our financial services audit client portfolio, including our further ambitious growth plans, we wish to appoint a Senior Manager with responsibility for monitoring and enhancing our audit quality initiatives and activities.
This person will be involved in supporting risk management and audit methodology in line with best practice and support us in achieving Forvis Mazars core value of providing second to none client experience through high quality audit assurance.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving audit excellence across the firm, with a particular focus on insurance sector audits. They will also have the responsibility of providing real‑time assurance reviews of in‑progress insurance audits and will be working with the wider audit quality team to enhance our audit quality framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance on complex insurance auditing issues and continuously develop industry and audit technical knowledge, ensuring the wider team is alerted to matters concerning risk management or audit methodology.
- Work closely with the wider audit quality team in the areas of quality, risk, and methodology.
- Facilitate quality collaboration between our insurance audit teams and internal specialists supporting them.
- Plan and complete real‑time assurance reviews focusing on our portfolio of insurance audits.
- Identify appropriate resolution plans and guidance to address any identified areas of non‑compliance.
- Support root cause analysis and follow‑up to ensure recommendations have been actioned.
- Liaise with Audit Quality Partner on results of quality assurance reviews.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of insurance audit methodology enhancements.
- Support and facilitate audit technical training and audit quality information briefings/forums for audit staff, management, and partners.
- Assist in implementing wider audit quality initiatives across the insurance audit portfolio.
Ideal Candidate
- ACA or similar relevant accountancy qualification with at least five years post‑qualification experience.
- Strong insurance audit technical knowledge and ability to interpret complex standards.
- Recent practical insurance audit experience in a senior management position in a financial services audit environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High regard for quality and attention to detail.
