Role Overview
Primary purpose is to provide timely, accurate financial analysis, reporting, and strategic insights that support internal decision-making, optimize profitability, and ensure rigorous cost control. This role bridges the gap between financial data and operational performance by managing budgeting processes, overseeing expenditure, and collaborating with accounts receivable to maintain healthy cash flow and working capital. This role is within the Keelings Flowers Finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate weekly and monthly management accounts.
- Monthly reconciliation of key balance sheet risk areas such as Sales, VAT, Auction Material, prepayments & Accruals.
- Take ownership of all your balance sheet accounts and ensure appropriate controls are in place to ensure their accuracy and security.
- Monthly review of the accounts with Finance Director & Quarterly reviews with Support office.
- Preparation and collation of other Weekly KPI Data as requested.
- Ensure Internal Financial Controls within department are sufficient and strictly adhered to.
- Assistance with the completion of the year end audit for Keelings Retail to include preparation of the audit file and back up and liaising with external auditors on any queries they may have.
- Annual Sales & Overheads budgets preparation & review.
- Prepare weekly and ad-hoc Finance reports and analysis as requested by the Finance Director.
- Working closely with AR on resolving queries on a weekly basis.
- Investigate and manage price and short deductions.
- Be the Lead on Compliance around GDPR, AEO & Repak.
- Manage and control our Auction Material Reconciliation to ensure no financial risk.
- Lead Category Meetings weekly.
- Review event new line forms to ensure accurate pricing, VAT calculation and are tied back to Customer Pricelists.
- Review and control Stock adjustments.
What You’ll Need
- Previous experience in a FMCG sector an advantage.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to demonstrate you are a team player.
- Possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
- Team work abilities are a must.
- Advanced IT skills required.
- Excellent IT skills required, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
Education & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with a proven record of strong academic performance
- Preferably with 2 years PQE.
