The Role As Director of Commercial Data Science and Advanced Analytics, you will lead a high-impact team within a multidisciplinary organization spanning Commercial and Medical Affairs. You will play a critical role in shaping and advancing Data Science, Advanced Analytics and AI initiatives across the US market. This position is based in our Princeton, NJ office.
Work arrangement This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%–40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60‑day period and is approved by the hiring manager.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the advanced analytics strategy aligned to Commercial and Medical Affairs priorities across both Hematology and Solid Tumors.
Identify, prioritize, and shape high‑impact analytics use cases, building clear business cases for investment and innovation.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions through data‑driven insights and recommendations.
Champion a test‑and‑learn approach: lead the design and execution of experiments to validate solutions and enable scalable deployment.
Establish and evolve best practices, frameworks, and governance for advanced analytics across the organization.
Foster strong cross‑functional partnerships to embed analytics into core business processes and decision‑making.
Lead, coach, and develop a small team of data scientists and external consultants, setting priorities and supporting career growth.
Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of analytics initiatives across Genmab’s commercial portfolio, ensuring quality, scalability, and alignment with business goals.
Lead a portfolio of in‑market Data Science priorities including Marketing Mix, Omnichannel Analytics, and other advanced analytics use cases across commercial and medical affairs.
Guide the application of advanced methodologies, including statistical modeling, machine learning, and large language models.
Ensure insights translate into action by connecting analytical outputs to clear business implications and recommended actions.
Own stakeholder communication with senior stakeholders across the US market, including synthesizing complex analyses into compelling narratives.
Oversee external vendors and consultants, ensuring high‑quality delivery and effective knowledge transfer.
Partner closely with AI Labs, Data Product and teams across the US market to operationalize and scale data science and advanced analytics solutions.
Champion the adoption of AI productivity tools by establishing best practices and embedding these capabilities into day‑to‑day analytics workflows.
Requirements
MS or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics).
12+ years of experience in advanced analytics or data science.
Demonstrated leadership of in‑market advanced analytics teams, driving data‑driven decision‑making across Commercial and/or Medical Affairs.
Experience in Oncology or Rare Disease preferred.
Proven track record of translating analytics into measurable business impact.
Strong expertise in data science, marketing analytics, and/or real‑world evidence generation.
Fluency with real‑world datasets (e.g., claims, EHR, lab data).
Experience with customer and patient journey analytics.
Proficiency in Python, R, and/or SQL; experience with cloud‑based data environments.
Experience with commercial data sources (e.g., Rx, claims, payer, formulary, HCP data).
Strong business acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights.
Experience working cross‑functionally and managing external partners or consultants.
Experience with AI productivity tools.
Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, agile environment and lead through ambiguity.
Salary $221,600.00 — $332,400.00
