Currently, DPRA is searching for a Senior Systems Administrator in our Knoxville, Tennessee office location.
This full-time position will oversee the administration, maintenance and security of a distributed IT infrastructure supporting multiple Microsoft 365 tenants and a geographically dispersed workforce. This role is responsible for managing both on‑site and remote environments across multiple locations and time zones, ensuring operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and enterprise‑level security standards. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, service‑oriented IT professional with deep Microsoft 365 expertise and experience operating within regulated environments such as CMMC and NIST 800‑171.

Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Administration
Administer multiple Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access Policies; and Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA)
Manage identity governance, security policies, and tenant configurations
Perform log reviews and monitor system activity to ensure compliance and security integrity
Infrastructure & Systems Management
Administer physical and virtual servers across distributed environments
Manage network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and remote office connectivity
Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint protection
Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support
Support and manage Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) tools
Administer VoIP systems
Security & Compliance
Ensure compliance with CMMC Level 1 (or higher), NIST 800‑171, and NIST 800‑53 (as applicable)
Conduct internal system compliance reviews and assessments
Develop and maintain technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Participate in IT Change Boards and change management processes
Support audit readiness initiatives
Physical Security Systems
Oversee IP‑based camera systems
Administer badge readers and access‑control systems
Ensure physical security systems integration with cybersecurity policies
Collaboration & Strategic Support
Work closely with development teams and systems engineers to support development, testing and deployment
Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies
Assist with vendor management and contract negotiations
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance (active clearance preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in IT Security, Computer Science, Information Systems Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of seven years of IT Administration experience, including at least three years in a regulated environment (CMMC level 1 or higher, NIST 800‑171, NIST 800‑53).
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
Strong service orientation and the ability to work independently.
Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
Experience in participating in IT Change Boards and conducting system compliance assessments.
Experience drafting SOPs to support IT consistency and audit readiness.
Networking – 3+ years of experience with firewalls, switches, and physical security hardware.
Prior experience with vendor management, contract negotiations, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies.
At least three years of Microsoft 365 Administration experience.

CompTIA Security+ (Active or ability to obtain)
Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator
CCNA Certification
