Key Focus
Backend Engineering: Design and build server-side systems, APIs, and data services with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
Technical Leadership: Contribute to architecture decisions and drive best practices across languages like Scala/Java and cloud platforms such as AWS.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain scalable, resilient backend systems
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers
Contribute to system design and architectural direction
Ensure quality through code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
Write and review technical documentation (design docs, RFCs, RCAs)
Mentor engineers and support a strong, inclusive team culture
Participate in on‑call rotation for production systems
What You’ll Need
5+ years’ experience in software engineering
Strong proficiency in at least one programming language
Experience designing and operating distributed systems in the cloud
Deep understanding of APIs, scalability, and system performance
Proven ability to lead projects and mentor othersExperience with production systems, observability, and incident response
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
Experience with AWS (compute, storage, serverless)
Scala and/or functional programming expertise
Experience shaping engineering standards and best practices
