RCPI is seeking an experienced, strategically minded New Product Development Manager to lead the creation, evaluation, and launch of innovative education and medical service products. Working closely with the Director of Business Development & Examinations and the New Business Development Manager, this role will be central to expanding RCPI’s product portfolio, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring new offerings meet market needs while delivering sustainable commercial returns. The successful candidate will collaborate across RCPI’s internal teams, external partners, and its Institutes and Faculties to identify new opportunities, shape compelling product concepts, and bring high‑quality education products to market.

Key ResponsibilitiesNew Product Development & Portfolio Expansion
  • Lead the development of new education products delivered by RCPI and external partners, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
  • Manage the design and launch of a major international postgraduate medical training programme in collaboration with academic and clinical partners.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, and product opportunities.
  • Work with Institutes, Faculties, and key stakeholders to generate, assess, and shape new product ideas.
  • Drive the development of new revenue streams, targeting opportunities to ensure growth on an annual basis.
Commercial & Strategic Planning
  • Develop comprehensive commercial business cases for new products, including pricing models, financial projections, and margin analysis.
  • Ensure all new offerings are commercially viable, scalable, and aligned with RCPI’s long‑term growth strategy.
  • Prioritise product opportunities based on strategic value, market demand, feasibility, and resource requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, academic partners, faculty leads, healthcare organisations, and international collaborators.
  • Facilitate structured idea‑generation processes with Institutes and Faculties to maintain a robust pipeline of new product opportunities.
  • Communicate product strategy, progress updates, and insights to senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with the New Business Development Manager, Digital Team, Marketing, Education, Examinations, and Operations to ensure seamless product development and delivery.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional project teams to deliver products on time, within budget, and to an exceptional standard.
  • Support the development of go‑to‑market strategies, product positioning, messaging, and promotional plans.
Product Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Review the performance of existing education products to identify opportunities for enhancement, repositioning, extension, or retirement.
  • Use learner analytics, customer feedback, and market insights to drive continuous improvement across RCPI’s education and medical service portfolio.
  • Ensure all products comply with regulatory, accreditation, and quality assurance requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in product development, programme management, innovation, or a related field within education, healthcare, or a similar sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience developing business cases and financial models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proven ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Strong project management capabilities with experience leading cross‑functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in medical education or professional training (desirable but not essential).
Qualifications
  • A relevant primary degree is required.
  • A postgraduate qualification is desirable.
  • A project management qualification is advantageous.
