Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support the delivery of key strategic initiatives within a retail banking environment. This role will focus on producing both high-level and low-level solution designs across multiple payments-related workstreams.
This is a critical position requiring a proactive and self-sufficient individual who can operate effectively within a complex organisational landscape and engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Define and produce
high-level and low-level solution architectures
for strategic banking initiatives
Translate business and functional requirements into
clear, scalable technical designs
Work closely with business analysts, delivery teams, and engineering resources to ensure design readiness
Engage with stakeholders across multiple domains, managing expectations and resolving challenges
Navigate internal systems, processes, and dependencies to gather required inputs and drive progress
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks
Support development teams by providing clarity on design decisions and technical direction
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience working as a
Solution Architect within retail banking or financial services
Strong background in
payments architecture , ideally including card-based or digital payment solutions
Ability to produce both
high-level and detailed technical designs
independently
Demonstrated experience working in
complex, large-scale organisational environments
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge when required
Experience working across distributed teams and navigating organisational xcfaprz dependencies
Desirable Experience
Exposure to card schemes
Experience delivering solutions related to
transaction data enrichment or digital checkout/payment journeys
Prior experience working on time-sensitive or high-priority transformation initiatives

working autonomously
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to
remove blockers and drive outcomes
Comfortable operating in a
fast-paced, evolving delivery environment
Politically aware, with the ability to
navigate complex stakeholder landscape
