The Opportunity

EirGrid’s Solution Development and Data Management team is expanding its transformation Programme and is looking for a Power Platform Support Engineer who will be responsible for the operational health of Power Platform applications, including Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI. This role will also manage Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) for access administration and providing end‑user support.


Digital Transformation is at the heart of the Energy Transition and our Power Apps platform will be a key pillar of delivering new capability and efficiencies across the organisation. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse, multi‑disciplined and highly specialised team delivering software solutions and integrations to enable the Business Strategy.


As the Power Platform Support Engineer, you will form part of the foundation layer for the development of our Dev‑Ops and Cloud practice. You will undertake the implementation and support of software solutions to stakeholders across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Technical support for Power Platform applications, addressing technical issues, responding to user inquiries, and resolving challenges efficiently.
  • Work with partners to understand backend configurations to understand relevancy and impact. Working with security and legal teams to ensure it conforms to Eirgrid policy.
  • Oversee the performance and functionality of Power Apps (Canvas, Model‑Driven, and Portals), ensuring user needs are met.
  • Maintain and optimize workflows and automations using Power Automate.
  • Support the development of Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with development teams to recommend system improvements and implement updates.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions thoroughly, contributing to the internal knowledge base.
  • Keep up to date with new Power Platform features and updates.
  • Develop, deliver training, develop frameworks and work with internal teams to create guardrails and best practices to support business users.

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in a support role with a focus on the Microsoft Power Platform supported by a degree or qualification in a technical discipline.
  • Proficient understanding of Power Apps (Canvas, Model‑Driven, and Portals), Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Experience with Azure AD for user and access management, including security and compliance policies.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication and customer service skills, capable of explaining technical details to a non‑technical audience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 integrations is advantageous.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals (PL‑900) certification or similar strongly recommended.
  • Experience with Power Platform Operations (working with the Power Platform Operations Manager).
