The Department of Orthopedics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix , in collaboration with Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix , is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our growing academic faculty. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex musculoskeletal trauma, including high‘energy fractures and polytrauma, with particular clinical interest in Foot & Ankle and/or Pelvic and Acetabular fixation.

The successful candidate will join a collegial, academically driven team committed to evidence‘based care, resident education, and clinical research within a high‘volume Level I Trauma Center.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time employed faculty position with Banner University Medical Group
  • Academic appointment with the University of Arizona College of Medicine
  • One day per week of outpatient clinic; operative focus with robust trauma volume
  • Shared weekend and nighttime call responsibilities
  • Opportunity to work closely with orthopedic residents and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive orthopedic trauma care to an assigned patient population
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient surgical services
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough medical documentation
  • Share call responsibilities as required
  • Contribute to resident education and academic initiatives

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • ABMS/ABOS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship training required
  • 3+ years of post-training experience preferred
  • Eligible for Arizona medical licensure at time of hire

Practice Details

  • FTE Structure: Typically 1 clinic day and 2 operating room days per week
  • Call: Hospital-based orthopedic trauma call required
  • Facilities: Inpatient and outpatient surgical facilities
  • Established Practice Profile:
    • 9 Orthopedic Surgeons
    • 6 Primary Care Sports Medicine physicians
    • 11 Physician Assistants
  • Average clinic volume: 50-60 patients per day
  • Education: 20 Orthopedic Surgery residents
