Using advanced MRI equipment and established protocols, you will operate scanners, select appropriate imaging parameters, and ensure images meet diagnostic standards while adhering to radiation safety and MRI safety guidelines, including strict control of the magnetic field environment. You will verify patient identity, maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, and follow departmental policies for exam scheduling, contrast administration, and post-procedure care. You will collaborate with radiologists to clarify protocols, repeat images when necessary, and communicate any urgent or unexpected findings through established escalation pathways.
This position requires consistent attention to detail, strong technical competency, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment. You will follow infection prevention practices, assist with room turnover, maintain supplies, and report equipment issues promptly. As part of Piedmont Healthcare’s culture of respect, innovation, and teamwork, you will participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and quality-improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experience, workflow efficiency, and imaging quality. You will support new staff or students as appropriate, sharing best practices and reinforcing the organization’s standards of care.
Piedmont Healthcare offers a collaborative and inclusive environment where MRI technologists can continue to grow professionally through education, cross-training, and exposure to a broad range of clinical cases. In this flexible PRN role, you may be scheduled for variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on departmental needs, providing an excellent opportunity to balance work with other personal or professional commitments. If you are a compassionate, patient-focused MRI technologist who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and wants to contribute to high-quality care within a leading non-profit healthcare system, we encourage you to apply and join the Piedmont team.
