Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Staff Pharmacist, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication management. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and timely medication dispensing. Your clinical knowledge and patient service skills will help optimize therapeutic outcomes while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment in a combination retail and compounding pharmacy dedicated to improving patient health through innovative pharmacy practices.
This position will ne for approx 36 hours weekly.
*Duties*
* Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all safety protocols and legal requirements.
* Provide expert medication counseling and education to patients, families, and healthcare providers to promote understanding and adherence.
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including evaluating medication histories, physiological status, and potential drug interactions.
* Collaborate with medical teams on complex cases involving pain management, critical care, pediatrics, and acute care settings.
* Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently, including ordering, stock rotation, compounding medications, and maintaining proper storage
* Assist in training pharmcy technicians and new staff on medication management procedures, pharmacy software, and clinical protocols.
* Support immunization programs by administering vaccines following proper medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
* Maintain accurate records of medication administration, inventory levels, and patient care activities.
*Requirements*
* Valid pharmacist license with current registration in NY
* Compounding experience preferred
* Strong customer service skills
* Experience with pharmacy software systems such as Liberty
* Immunization trained, current CPR certificate
* Ability to perform patient assessments effectively to support personalized medical management plans.
* Excellent communication skills for patient service delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Knowledge of inventory management practices to ensure medication availability while minimizing waste.
* Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is essential.
