Senior Contracts Manager
at AECOM, Dublin
Key leadership role providing commercial and contractual expertise across major projects, supporting delivery from tender to final account.
Responsibilities
Ensure alignment with Contracting Entity’s Contract Management standards and selected contract suite (e.g. NEC).
Provide assurance that contract administration complies with contractual terms and standards, managing and reporting non‑compliance.
Manage and develop commercial relationships with Contractors and Consultants, promoting collaborative ways of working.
Review and advise on draft contracts, coordinating input from legal, technical, and financial advisors.
Lead contractual negotiations and provide guidance to Project Managers, Service Managers, and Programme Directors.
Review and approve subcontractors and subcontract documentation.
Certify payments, including assessment of Defined Costs under NEC Option C and E.
Audit Contractors’ and Consultants’ accounts to ensure costs are accurately recorded and claimed.
Review cost forecasts and assess pain/gain share mechanisms for NEC Option C and D.
Undertake delay damages assessments and calculations.
Develop and implement category‑ and programme‑level contract management strategies.
Set KPI targets within NEC Incentive Schedules and monitor performance.
Establish and maintain KPI libraries.
Review and approve performance evaluations and implement improvement plans.
Build, manage, and support a team of Contract Administrators across the project team.
Review Compensation Event submissions, including Early Warning notifications and quotations.
Review applications for payment to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
Provide assurance of RFI and RFT tender documentation, including Z clauses.
Oversee tendering and evaluation processes through to appointment of Contractors and Consultants.
Qualifications
Postgraduate qualification, ideally in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
Extensive experience in contract management, including at least three years with NEC contracts.
Strong track record delivering infrastructure and/or aviation projects.
Proven capability in performance monitoring, claims management and commercial reporting.
