An Post Application Support Team (APS), as part of Group Technology Solutions (GTS), delivers application support and IT Service Management for a portfolio of business‑critical applications and services across the An Post Retail and Commerce streams.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join us as the SAP CDC (Customer Data Cloud) Technical Lead. Reporting to the PaaS and Shared Services Team Lead, this role will be responsible for establishing, managing, and evolving SAP CDC as an enterprise technology within An Post.


As a senior support specialist, the successful candidate will also contribute to the ongoing general development of the APS support model, with a strong emphasis on automation and continuous improvement.


This position may require participation in an on‑call or out‑of‑hours work when necessary.


Key Responsibilities

The principal responsibilities associated with the role include, but are not limited, to the following:


SAP CDC

  • Build, lead, and continuously develop technical support for SAP CDC as a key enterprise technology within An Post.
  • Establish and embed an operational support model for SAP CDC in collaboration with the APS team.
  • Drive effective Knowledge Management through the creation and standardisation of runbooks and SOPs.
  • Work closely with GTS and business stakeholders to ensure all solutions meet compliance requirements and align with organisational needs.

General

  • Champion opportunities for automation, partnership, and process optimisation.
  • Collaborate with APS and internal/external partners to create consistent and scalable support models with demand management.
  • Take a leadership role in enhancing Knowledge Management practices, ensuring high‑quality, standardised runbooks and SOPs.
  • Ensure strong availability, reliability, and capacity management using enterprise‑grade tools and processes.
  • Lead the resolution of complex incidents, coordinating efforts across cross‑functional teams.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to their ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrate An Post Values and behaviours in your day‑to‑day work and address behaviour that supports/conflicts with them.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant third level qualification or equivalent technical/industry experience along with minimum 5 years of relevant technical IT experience.


You will have an awareness and understanding of An Post Retail and Commerce services.


Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.


You must also demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.


Experience and knowledge of the following is essential:



  • IT infrastructure and application support (On‑Premise, Colocation and Cloud)
  • Information Security
  • Automation and Continuous Improvement
  • Knowledge Management and Knowledge Sharing, Runbooks, SOPs
  • Industry standards and regulations, e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS
  • Monitoring and alerting tools, e.g., Application Insights, SolarWinds
  • Agile and ITIL methodologies
  • IT Service Management, particularly Incident, Request and Problem Management
  • Availability, Reliability and Capacity Management
  • Knowledge of SAP CDC or similar platform
