Job Description and Duties The Division of Engineering Services (DES), Structures and Engineering Services (SES), Office of Design and Technical Services (ODTS) is recruiting for a Structural Design Technician (SDT) I position located in Sacramento. This is the entry‑level position in the series. Under the direct supervision of a Senior Bridge Engineer and/or lead person, the incumbent prepares simple drawings and assists in the preparation of complete design, construction, and as‑built drawings for a variety of structures.
Eligibility and Minimum Qualifications Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Structural Design Technician I exam. For applicants who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, voluntary demotion) or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list. Possession of the Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state‑owned or leased vehicle.
