Senior AS400 Developer

Dunnes Stores is Ireland’s leading retailer positioned at the cutting edge of food and fashion retailing. Our continued expansion means we are looking to recruit a Senior AS400 Developer to join our technology team based in Dublin.

This is an opportunity to join a business where technology plays a central role in supporting a large, complex retail operation. We are looking for a senior hands‑on developer with strong AS400 experience who can support, enhance and develop business-critical applications in a live operational environment.

The successful candidate will have strong experience across RPG/FREE, RPGLE, RPG III, DB2, CL and SQL, with a proven ability to work effectively within an established IBM i estate. Experience with DDS, ACS and RDi would also be beneficial.

You will work across the full development lifecycle, including analysis, development, testing, deployment and support. The role will involve maintaining and improving existing applications, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting integrations between AS400-based systems and the wider technology landscape.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked in retail, FMCG, wholesale, supply chain, or other high-volume transactional environments. Experience with web services, HTTP, XML payloads, sockets, or similar integration methods would be advantageous. Exposure to release and change tools such as OMS, Turnover, ARCAD, ADM, SVN or Git would also be useful.

The ideal candidate will be a strong problem solver with good technical judgement, a practical approach, and the ability to work closely with both technical and business stakeholders. xcfaprz Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum, Kanban and Jira would be beneficial.
