We have an immediate need for a locum Gastroenterology Physician to provide gastroenterology services for our veteran population at the VA Medical Center in Togus, ME. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the rustic beauty of Maine.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services including the full range of colonoscopy and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures such as:
• Colonoscopy
o Colonoscopy via colostomy
o Colonoscopy w/biopsy(ies)
o Colonoscopy w/ablation of tumor/polyp/lesion
o Colonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps
o Colonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique
o Colonoscopy w/out biopsy Colonoscopy w/ submucosal
• Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
o EGD diagnostic
o EGD w/biopsy(ies)
o EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps
o EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique
Provide consultative services at the patient s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic, setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
BC/BE:
Must be Board Certified /Board Eligible in accordance with American Board of Internal Medicine s Gastroenterology Standards.
Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.
Hours & Schedule:
• Clinic Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:30pm (excluding federal holidays).
• On call hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotation of 1 week to every 4 weeks.
Items Required for Submission:
• Current CV without any gaps over 30 days since completion of medical school- written explanations are accepted
• One active, unrestricted Medical License in any state
• Current DEA
• BLS- American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Proof of BC/BE
• 3 Current References
• Signed LOI
