The Opportunity You’ll be a core backend engineer owning and scaling real-world systems, not internal tools or experiments. The platform you build will be used by tens of thousands of users inside highly regulated, global enterprises. What You’ll Be Working On Designing and scaling backend systems in production Building APIs from scratch using modern Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, etc.) Implementing GenAI workflows (RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks) Deploying and scaling containerized services in the cloud (AWS preferred) Collaborating closely with product, medical, and customer-facing teams What We’re Looking For (Non‑Negotiable) 3+ years of backend engineering experience while physically working in the US (Remote work for a US company while abroad does not qualify) Strong Python backend experience Hands‑on experience building GenAI applications Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑ownership startup environment Open to hybrid, in‑office work in San Francisco (4–5 days/week) Open to immediate relocation if not already local Nice to Have Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, xywuqvp fintech, compliance) Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform or Pulumi) Some frontend exposure (React) What Makes This Role Different Real AI systems in production, not research or POCs Direct ownership and visibility into customer impact Early‑stage team with massive enterprise reach Fast growth, high standards, and meaningful responsibility from day one If you’re excited by ownership, speed, and building AI systems that actually matter, this is one worth exploring!
