We are a fast‑growing, profitable organization supporting the technology needs of some of the largest enterprises in the U.S. About the Role The Senior Desktop Support Specialist will play a critical role in supporting internal staff by providing advanced technical assistance, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, and ensuring a seamless end-user computing experience. This role acts as a senior escalation point, partners closely with IT and Security teams, and helps maintain key productivity and security platforms across the organization. Key Responsibilities Provide first- and second-tier support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices; act as an escalation point for complex issues. Administer and support SaaS applications including user provisioning/deprovisioning, license management, access control, and troubleshooting. Perform Active Directory administration (on‑prem and Entra ID), including account lifecycle management, group/role assignments, password resets, and access reviews. Support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Entra ID/Azure AD), including mailbox access, authentication/MFA, and group management. Troubleshoot SharePoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, focusing on permissions and access issues. Manage and document IT service requests via the ticketing system, following change and compliance processes. Support endpoint security and tooling including
Mimecast
and
CrowdStrike , coordinating with Security teams as needed. Administer Apple endpoints through
Apple Business Manager
and MDM tools such as
Jamf
and
Intune . Administer password and access management tools such as
1Password
(user onboarding, shared vaults, recovery). Support collaboration tools including
Slack , providing basic administration and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS (Windows/macOS), and network connectivity issues. Install, configure, patch, and maintain desktop systems, peripherals, and applications. Support remote users via phone, email, and remote support tools. Maintain asset inventory and track hardware lifecycle and replacements. Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to documentation and knowledge base articles. Support additional end-user infrastructure tools including Adobe licensing, printer support, Terminal/SSH access, and tape drive support. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in desktop or technical support. Strong troubleshooting skills across
Windows and macOS
environments. Experience with
Microsoft 365 ,
Active Directory (on‑prem & Entra ID) , and remote support tools. Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Hands-on experience with
MDM solutions (Jamf and/or Intune) . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Customer-first mindset and strong team collaboration skills. Must have reliable transportation to support other
San Francisco Bay Area locations
(e.g., Burlingame, Union City). Experience with Salesforce is a plus. Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft, etc.) are a plus. Sycomp is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
