Position Overview As a Senior Systems Administrator, you'll play a key leadership role in managing and optimizing Modigent’s core business systems, including email, voice, collaboration platforms, servers, networks, databases, and enterprise applications. You will ensure these systems operate reliably as a cohesive unit, troubleshoot complex issues, drive continuous improvement, and provide technical leadership to the IT team. This senior-level position combines deep technical expertise with the ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions in a dynamic, multi-company environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and support assigned business systems (email, voice, collaboration, servers, networks, databases, and enterprise applications) to ensure they function efficiently as an integrated environment.
Field and resolve complex help desk tickets, application issues, and infrastructure problems for end users across the organization.
Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and translate them into system, process, or application improvements.
Serve as a subject matter expert on cross-functional teams, providing recommendations on new initiatives, system enhancements, and technology projects.
Monitor, test, and tune system performance; preserve and analyze system logs to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Manage system changes following established change management processes.
Collaborate with IT partners, functional analysts, and vendors to coordinate system enhancements and integrations.
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot data collection, storage, and business intelligence solutions, including dashboards and reports for departmental and leadership use.
Communicate new system functionality to users and assist with training and adoption.
Work to enhance or improve business processes through system integration while minimizing disruption.
Compile and maintain an accurate inventory of organizational software and system assets.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to other IT team members on specific tasks and initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities Yes – Provides technical leadership and direction to other IT resources; may assign tasks, mentor team members, and support the IT Director with team initiatives (without direct people management responsibility).
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, and enterprise application management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Physical Demands: Primarily office-based with occasional travel for site support; standard office mobility.
Work Environment/Safety: Professional office setting with hybrid options; adherence to corporate safety standards.
Required Skills
Strong technical expertise in Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office 365, servers, networks, databases, and collaboration tools.
Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess complex issues and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, provide direction to team members, and collaborate effectively across departments.
Self-starter with high energy, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with multiple priorities.
Strong customer service orientation and ability to build positive relationships with internal customers and vendors.
Experience with system integration, change management, documentation, and process improvement.
