Carle Health is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Tech for our Progressive Care Unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will support a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to adults who require close monitoring and advanced nursing support. Working alongside registered nurses and providers, you will assist with direct patient care, telemetry monitoring, routine procedures, and daily activities to help patients stabilize and progress toward discharge. As a Healthcare Tech in the Progressive Care Unit, you will obtain and record vital signs, blood glucose readings, intake and output, and other key clinical data while promptly reporting significant changes to the nursing staff. You will assist with EKGs, continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry monitoring, and help ensure that equipment and patient rooms are clean, safe, and well organized. Your responsibilities will include supporting patients with mobility, personal hygiene, feeding, and positioning to prevent complications and promote comfort. You will contribute to patient and family education by reinforcing instructions provided by the care team and by promoting understanding of safety measures, progressive mobility, and post-hospital care needs. This position plays an integral role in maintaining patient safety by adhering to infection prevention protocols, fall prevention strategies, and standardized workflows designed to reduce hospital-acquired conditions. You will collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, communicate observations, and respond quickly to patient needs. Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record is essential, as is maintaining confidentiality and respecting the dignity and cultural needs of each patient. At Carle Health, you will join an organization that values innovation, teamwork, and a strong commitment to excellence. You can expect a supportive environment with opportunities for ongoing training, skill development, and professional growth. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about impactful, hands-on patient care in a fast-paced progressive care setting and who are eager to contribute to improved patient outcomes and a culture of safety and quality.
