Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Specialty LPN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Upstate New York. As a Specialty LPN, you will work within our hospital-based specialty care units, supporting physicians and Registered Nurses in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will provide direct bedside care, perform skilled nursing procedures within LPN scope of practice, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with diagnostic tests and treatments. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, document patient status accurately in the electronic health record, and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding treatments, progress, and discharge instructions. The Specialty LPN will support specialty-specific protocols—such as cardiology, oncology, surgical, or other focused service lines—by following evidence-based guidelines, preparing patients for procedures, maintaining infection control and safety standards, and ensuring that equipment and supplies are organized and available. You will play a key role in patient and family education, reinforcing teaching on medications, symptom management, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care. MVHS fosters a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and employee welfare, and as a Specialty LPN you will be encouraged to participate in quality improvement activities, continuing education, and skills development.
