Good Samaritan Health Center is seeking a mission-driven Dietary Consultant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, serving patients in underserved communities with a focus on holistic health and meaningful wellness outcomes. In this role, you will provide expert nutrition guidance and support as an integrated member of an interdisciplinary care team, working closely with physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and community health workers. The Dietary Consultant conducts comprehensive nutritional assessments, interprets clinical data, and develops individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans tailored to each patient’s medical conditions, cultural background, and personal goals. You will provide one-on-one and group counseling focused on chronic disease prevention and management—particularly diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and cardiovascular risk—using motivational interviewing and other behavior-change strategies to empower patients to make sustainable lifestyle changes. Working in a collaborative, community-centered environment, you will design and deliver culturally responsive nutrition education for individuals and families, with special attention to barriers such as food insecurity, limited resources, and health literacy. You will assist patients with practical meal planning, label reading, and navigating community food resources, all while reinforcing Good Samaritan’s commitment to compassion, integrity, and community engagement. The Dietary Consultant will document assessments, interventions, and progress in the electronic health record (EHR), monitor outcomes, and adjust care plans based on clinical indicators and patient feedback. You will participate in community health initiatives, wellness workshops, and outreach events, helping shape programs that advance population health and reduce disparities. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, collaboration with a supportive multidisciplinary team, and the chance to see the direct impact of your expertise on patient and community wellness. Ideal candidates bring a strong foundation in clinical or community nutrition, excellent communication and counseling skills, and a genuine passion for serving underserved populations. You should be comfortable balancing independent clinical work with team-based care, committed to evidence-based practice, and eager to contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts within our Healthcare & Medical Services department.
