New Directions Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Child and Adolescent Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, providing high-quality outpatient mental health care to children, teenagers, and their families. As a key member of our clinic, you will deliver individual and family therapy for children and adolescents experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, and family or school-related stressors. In this role, you will conduct thorough intake and diagnostic assessments, gather psychosocial histories, and formulate accurate clinical impressions using established diagnostic frameworks. You will develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each client’s developmental level, cultural background, strengths, and goals. Using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy–informed approaches, play therapy, and family systems work, you will provide structured, goal-oriented interventions while maintaining a warm, supportive, and developmentally sensitive therapeutic relationship. Collaboration with parents, guardians, and caregivers will be central to your work. You will provide regular updates, psychoeducation, and guidance to families, helping them understand diagnoses, treatment strategies, and practical ways to support their child’s progress at home and in school. You will coordinate care with pediatricians, psychiatrists, school counselors, and other community providers to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to each client’s well-being. As part of New Directions Mental Health, you will function within a culture grounded in empathy, support, and collaboration. You will participate in team meetings, clinical consultations, and case conferences, sharing insights and working closely with fellow therapists and medical providers to optimize treatment outcomes. You will maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in our electronic health record system, including progress notes, treatment plans, risk assessments, and discharge summaries, in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards. The Child and Adolescent Therapist will be expected to perform ongoing risk and safety assessments, develop and implement crisis and safety plans when needed, and respond appropriately to urgent client needs while following clinic protocols and state regulations, including mandated reporting requirements. You will monitor treatment progress using measurable goals and outcome measures, adjust interventions as clinically indicated, and engage clients and families in regular treatment review and discharge planning. New Directions Mental Health offers a supportive, team-oriented environment that values professional growth and high-quality care. You will have opportunities for ongoing training, clinical consultation, and potential supervision (if applicable) to enhance your skills in child and adolescent therapy and related evidence-based practices. While the position primarily provides services in an outpatient clinic setting, there may be flexibility for a hybrid schedule with a combination of in-clinic and approved remote telehealth sessions, depending on client needs and organizational policies. This position is best suited for a therapist with prior experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical setting, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills. Candidates should be comfortable managing a diverse caseload, collaborating closely with families and interdisciplinary teams, and contributing positively to a culture of empathy and respect. In return, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families, engage in rewarding and meaningful work in the mental health sector, and grow professionally within a stable and supportive organization. New Directions Mental Health offers a competitive annual salary commensurate with experience and credentials, along with a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, retirement options such as a 401k, and paid time off. If you are passionate about improving the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents, and you value collaborative, client-centered care, we invite you to apply and join our mission-driven team.
