As a CT Tech, WEO at Piedmont Healthcare, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic imaging services on weekend-only shifts. Working within the Healthcare & Medical Services department in a fast-paced hospital and outpatient environment, you will perform CT examinations in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory guidelines, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe imaging for a diverse patient population.
You will be responsible for preparing patients for CT procedures by verifying identity, reviewing histories, explaining exams, answering questions, and addressing concerns to promote comfort and trust. You will position patients accurately, select appropriate technical factors, and operate CT equipment to obtain high-quality images while strictly adhering to radiation safety standards and ALARA principles. You will start and manage IV access for contrast administration, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and follow departmental policies related to contrast screening, documentation, and emergency response.
Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify exam requests, communicate urgent findings, and support coordinated, patient-centered care across Piedmont’s network. You will ensure that images and related documentation are accurately processed, labeled, and transmitted through PACS and that exams are properly tracked and completed in the electronic medical record and radiology information systems.
As part of Piedmont Healthcare’s culture of respect, innovation, and teamwork, you will contribute to ongoing quality improvement by following standardized protocols, participating in peer review and performance initiatives, and helping to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance. You will perform routine equipment checks, assist with troubleshooting basic technical issues, and promptly report malfunctions to ensure safe and reliable operation of CT scanners and ancillary devices.
The weekend-only schedule (WEO) is designed for individuals seeking a consistent weekend work pattern, typically involving extended shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, with potential holiday coverage as needed. This schedule supports continuous access to imaging services for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient populations while offering you a predictable work pattern during the week. You will be expected to maintain flexibility to support patient volumes and clinical priorities while still benefiting from the stability of the WEO assignment.
Piedmont Healthcare is a non-profit healthcare system headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, serving communities across the state through its hospitals, physician practices, urgent care centers, and emergency departments. In this role, you will have opportunities to grow professionally through access to ongoing training, education in new imaging techniques and technologies, and support for advanced certifications. You will be encouraged to pursue professional development, contribute ideas for improving patient experience and workflow, and engage as a valued member of a supportive, inclusive imaging team.
Successful CT Techs at Piedmont demonstrate strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and critical thinking, along with excellent communication and customer service skills. They are comfortable working independently on weekend shifts, managing multiple priorities, and caring for acutely ill, injured, or anxious patients with empathy and professionalism. By joining Piedmont Healthcare as a CT Tech, WEO, you will help deliver safe, accurate diagnostic imaging that directly impacts patient diagnosis, treatment planning, and overall outcomes while advancing your own career within a respected, mission-driven organization.
